The Autonomy Government of the island MWALI (MOHÉLI)
After the independency and autonomy on 1998, Government of Moheli adopt a new modern legislation for incorporation of companies, include financial entities. The first legislation knows as Mwali services Law 1998, was amendment on 2001.
Mwali International Services Authority was created by Assembly degree at September 1999, and until today, is only Authority for the territory of Moheli (Mwali), responsible for Financial services and licensing.
In 2013 adopted amendments to the law relating to the licensing of banking and other activities. On 01.01.2013 the essential bases regulating this type of activity described in the document Bank act 2013.
At the moment, registrar of companies on Mwali keep in business register over 12000 companies, 74 Banking, 39 Insurance, 34 Trust entities and 65 Betting (Gambling) companies. At the moment, Mwali register is the larges companies register in Africa.
